From UCC&#8217;s involvement in a circular economy workshop in Ireland to ANFACO&#8217;s representation at BIOSPAIN in Barcelona, here&#8217;s a snapshot of the recent activities our partners have participated in.<br><br>In June, <strong>University College Cork<\/strong> took part in an international circular economy workshop featuring duckweed research and its applications in Ireland. The workshop was in cooperation with the&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucc.ie\/en\/brainwaves\/\"><mark style=\"background-color:#7bdcb5\" class=\"has-inline-color\">BRAINWAVES<\/mark><\/a>, an ERDF, Ireland Wales Programme funded project working to create value from farm waste, fostering a circular economy and enhancing nutrient recovery.&nbsp;See more <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrainwavesEU\/status\/1667089830746923013\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-light-green-cyan-color\">here<\/mark><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ANFACO<\/strong> represented IMPRESS at<a href=\"https:\/\/biospain2023.org\/program\/\"> <mark style=\"background-color:#7bdcb5\" class=\"has-inline-color\">BIOSPAIN<\/mark><\/a>, the largest biotech event organised by a national bioindustry association in Europe and one of the largest world wide. The three day event held September 26-28 in Barcelona, Spain featured keynote speakers, workshops, exhibitions, and networking events bringing together over 2000 attendees including companies, investors and exhibitors. ANFACO also presented the project in the <a href=\"https:\/\/anfaco.es\/revista\/\"><mark style=\"background-color:#7bdcb5\" class=\"has-inline-color\">\u2018Industria conservera\u2019 magazine\u2019s<\/mark> <\/a>September edition.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/PI4WruELiObZYMpE490fBv8BcgWYa2DP6AwJPZ9BdRrN2U1wwD5fMnuUrORwIYwUrNogoVdOidgmZCpw16TCA0S9lql0rRcJbbCSdq_UD3yWZl8hGH5jIOjAm6B4KVymbgcHaQE_q5HGkf-mBMyTaZw\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>BMRS<\/strong>\u2019s Julie Maguire chaired a session focused on molluscs at <a href=\"https:\/\/aquaeas.org\/Meeting\/AE2023\"><mark style=\"background-color:#7bdcb5\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Aquaculture Europe<\/mark><\/a>, in Vienna, September 18-21. This year\u2019s theme was \u201cBalanced diversity in aquaculture development\u201d, and featured parallel sessions, an international trade exhibition, industry forum and student activities covering the full scope of European aquaculture scientific disciplines and species.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>FINS <\/strong>has also been busy working closely with their team, to conduct preliminary experiments, and will continue exploring green extractions and environmentally friendly solvents.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"602\" height=\"601\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/EqaylsT7q_xb55_mmVt_GmfcMyKhCyToMvn__l3ksfBQPguBPTOmKArBqE7BXS0KkXe7FWsQccMaFg4I8KounfPih9FLxxPNIr9JMI5XQSgN7VkNvx2Nlv1VFNLksbKta7hxHjy-iqurngHjNa3sBZ4\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These updates showcase the diverse contributions our IMPRESS partners are making in the marine and freshwater sectors. Their active participation in workshops, events, and research underscores the commitment to our shared goals.
