In its search for algae that can be used in wastewater or effluent cleansing, Neoalgae has identified three microalgae species for its cleaning process. The three species that have been identified are: Isochrysis galbana<\/em>, Tetraselmis chui<\/em>, and Phaeodactylum tricornutum<\/em>. This article will introduce the first of our three and will take a closer look at the key cellular characteristics, habitat, cultivation conditions, and some potential applications for each type of algae. IIsochrysis Galbana<\/em> is a marine microalga that belongs to the class Prymnesiophyceae and the Order Isocrhysidales. It has an oval coin-shaped structure, with a length of 5-6\u00b5m and a width of 2-4\u00b5m and is golden-orange in colour. In the apical area (near the apex\/tip) there are 2 flagella that give it motility. It does not have coenobial structures, that is, the union of several cells externally (and sometimes connected by internal ducts) that protects them against adverse conditions. It is found in almost all marine water sources on Earth. However, for artificial cultivation its optimal temperature is 20\u00baC and the pH of its medium is between 7.0 and 8.0.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
