By integrating Comex\u2019s advanced NFC Smart Labeling with TCD\u2019s innovative biobased packaging prototypes, the partners are delivering tangible solutions for a sustainable, circular blue bioeconomy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Innovative Collaboration for Sustainable Supply Chains<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The partnership leverages TCD\u2019s expertise in biopolymer films and Comex\u2019s decades of leadership in Automatic Identification Systems and specialized printing. TCD has successfully produced the first batch of pilot-scale biobased trays, which Comex has now equipped with custom-developed NFC Smart Labels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key features of this integrated technology include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Eco-Friendly Substrates: <\/strong>The labels are printed directly onto biodegradable biopolymer matrices developed by TCD, ensuring the entire packaging unit supports zero-waste goals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Real-Time Intelligence:<\/strong> These smart labels enable real-time temperature monitoring during transit, providing critical data for TCD\u2019s supply chain validation work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Digital Traceability:<\/strong> Utilizing NFC protocol, the labels give products a &#8220;digital life,&#8221; allowing for seamless information exchange between producers and consumers regarding product authenticity and shelf-life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Validation and Future Outlook<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The TCD team, led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/ramesh-babu-6011755\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prof. Ramesh Babu<\/a>, is currently conducting temperature-dependent trials under simulated real-world scenarios to assess the performance of the Smart Labeling system.
